late 1931 Ford roadster pickup wide bed fact or fake
fact if late 31
True, just for reference only, look here:
My brother is looking at a Model A pickup for sale and mentioned it is a "widebody". I think he means wide bed. Is there such a thing as a widebody cab? Or is it just the different bed? Curious minds want to know...
Just the bed is different. Late 31 pickups had other differences as well such as the steel roof and indented firewall, but none that would make it a wide body.
Thank you. I had seen the different bed types but hadn't really thought too much about it. Makes sense.
Keep in mind you someone could have taken the original small bed off and replaced it with a wide bed.
Not a roadster, but a late '31 bed.....
If you dont mind me asking, what makes these special/different? I am still learning the differences between early fords. Does anyone have side by side pics?
the bed is as wide as the cab. on a normal model a truck its a bit narrower
early bed (same as used on Model T's)......
if i remember right the fenders bolt direcktly to the wide bed
and has a pice betwen fender and bed on narrow bed
Wide bed has 3 hinge straps and narrow only has 2
Fenders are about two inches narrower...and practically unobtainable..$$$
