Hey guys - are there any radiator shops left in central NC (I'm in Greensboro) that can modify a roadster radiator or am I better off biting the bullet on a new one? I swapped a nailhead into my '27 which means I need the outlets swapped back to the "Ford" positions (upper neck either in the middle or on passenger side, lower outlet on the driver side). Is that even doable, or would the cost eat me alive anyway?
I just Googled a few around you, one in business since 1960. Talk to the heavy truck shops, they know who does decent repairs. Moving the inlet/outlet should be no problem. I deal with Superior rad in Detroit, they do mostly trucks but also build custom rads for special interest cars. Warren
Keck's in Graham, maybe. They wouldn't re-core my '37 because of the angled fins, but it is an option.
If you find a good shop, I expect the wait time will drag down your project. If you can find someone with a new radiator in stock, the cost of altering the old one plus the wait time might make new a better option. Keep us posted.
