Is there a rule of thumb for how high the top of the radiator cap should be above the thermostat in my bbc? Should I measure from top of radiator to top of thermostat instead? I'm replacing my cheap ebay radiator/fan set up in the 55' with a new Griffen radiator/fan and want to put it as low as I can between the rails to get as much airflow across it as possible. appreciate it
It really doesn't matter as long as you have a fill point at the highest point in the system so you can get the air out. If the radiator is lower you can put a cap in the top radiator hose as a fill. Moroso has one available, I'm sure other manufacturers do too.
Moroso also has a cap/neck, that puts the cap above the thermostat, on the manifold. I have used these in cars were the radiator was below the manifold. https://www.speedwaymotors.com/Moroso-63420-Manifold-Filler-Neck,604.html
Ah, this is perfect. Thanks guys, i had no idea this existed. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
