Does anybody out there have a part # for a 4 lb cap that will fit my Walker radiator ('32 Ford with 59AB flathead)? Walker did not have one and they only sell a 15 lb and 7 lb cap.

    Thanks,

Put the 7 lb cap on it. The 4 lb cap is recommended to protect the original radiator tanks. The Walker radiator will take the higher pressure caps with no problem.

Not worried about the radiator, I am worried about the water pumps. Thanks for the input, I will use the 7 lb cap if I can't find a 4 lb cap. Can anybody help with that?

  5. I've been running a 7 lb cap on the '35 radiator, renecked for the cap and overflow on a '51 flattie-no problems with the rad or the pumps.

Go to your nearest FLAPS. If they stock more than foxtails and chrome fender flaps they should have a cap that will fit.

I used a 7 lb cap on a Walker for a '39 flathead, and I'm pretty sure it was originally meant to fit a 70's or 80's Chevy pickup. No leakage through the recently rebuilt water pumps, which use the stock style bushings and seals.

A follow up for anybody who might be looking for something similar - NAPA part #703-1412 is a 4 lb radiator cap that fits my Walker radiator.

    Thanks,

Remember seeing the the $30.00 price tag and thinking those Walker caps are pretty pricey.

7 or 8 bucks from Napa online.
The walker caps are high, but none low pressure.
