Hmmm, I have bias ply tires on my daily, see avitar, got a dial phone, and no TV. I am 57 years old and still have never been in an automobile accident so I guess I am safe? They say ignorance is bliss, must be true cause I am happy as a pig in poop! Bottom line is do what makes YOU HAPPY, thats why we live in this great country.;)

I hate you guys now this is stuck in my head......THANKS

    Who are you?
    Who, who, who, who?
    Who are you?
    Who, who, who, who?
    Who are you?
    Who, who, who, who?
    Who are you?
    Who, who, who, who?

I woke up in a Soho doorway
    A policeman knew my name
He said "You can go sleep at home tonight
If you can get up and walk away"

I staggered back to the underground
And the breeze blew back my hair
    I remember throwin' punches around
    And preachin' from my chair

    chorus:
Well, who are you? (Who are you? Who, who, who, who?)
I really wanna know (Who are you? Who, who, who, who?)
Tell me, who are you? (Who are you? Who, who, who, who?)
'Cause I really wanna know (Who are you? Who, who, who, who?)

I took the tube back out of town
    Back to the Rollin' Pin
I felt a little like a dying clown
With a streak of Rin Tin Tin

I stretched back and I hiccupped
And looked back on my busy day
Eleven hours in the Tin Pan
God, there's got to be another way

    Who are you?
Ooh wa ooh wa ooh wa ooh wa ...

    Who are you?
    Who, who, who, who?
    Who are you?
    Who, who, who, who?
    Who are you?
    Who, who, who, who?
    Who are you?
    Who, who, who, who?

    (chorus)

    I know there's a place you walked
Where love falls from the trees
My heart is like a broken cup
I only feel right on my knees

I spit out like a sewer hole
    Yet still recieve your kiss
How can I measure up to anyone now
After such a love as this?

I like radials...........but not on a period correct kustom......and definitely not on an open wheel car........ but I have radials on all the 'driven across country cars'.......they balance better........and i live closer to Kustom City than Jeff does...........

I really enjoy getting you guys going!!lololol
It was a simple yes or no question that escalated into 4 pages of posts. Its like the "ford vs chevy" arguement that will go on forever.
But in fact radials are not traditional, you all are right but if you look on here either is the post about "mounting fenders on calipers" or what type of "A/C do i use in my ratrod" etc.
I'll admit defeat!! you guys win!lol. But at least i got yuz thinking.LOLOLOLOLOL

I'd run bias ply tires on EVERY car if the darn things weren't so friggin' expensive over here.

But money's tight, and I always settle for radials, and slab on some of that paint originally intended for rubber rafts to make my own whitewalls and redlines.

Riding a safer tire is nice, but honestly, I secretly still envy those guys with the bias plys. No other tire screeches so well like bias plys when taking corners even at slow speed. Bet those bias plys are communicating, I swear. Talking to each other, telling themselves what the curb or the center line of the road's looking like today.

    They're alive.

I just wanted to make sure it was cool to run them everyday, and now that Im reading that alot of the guys I look up to run them, I'll feel like a tard if I dont. Its not a matter of what looks better...radials and fuckin ugly, especially on open fendered cars. For all you guys bitching about me bring the subject up again, read the fucking title and then skip on to the next one, or dont fucking bitch about it.

    Alex, thanks for the words
McPhail, dont sell the Ford, tell Jesse hello for me.

Every time I open this thread, I get a bigger chuckle out if it than the time before...goes from being just plain stupid to assinine. No matter how many people chime in on either type tire(whether you look up to them or not), I doubt seriously that it'll change minds...it's like a whole schoolroom of kindergartners arguing over the color of the sky...keep the drama going...I love it...!!!

OK Andrew ,here goes: 1) Ride quaility.. radials are better!
    2) do they last longer?: Yes by about 20,000 miles( depending on quaility, cheap shit Pep boys don't last that long, but longer then bias)
    3) will you be happy? you'll have to decide that yourself!
So there 3 simple answers to 3 simple questions, cut & dry!

  18. Radial tires = Custom not Kustom. Dont be trying to call yourself traditional if you are running em. Dont hide it you are a streetrodder and dont be ashamed, you know who you are. Kustoms dont run radials END OF STORY.

  19. a fifties custom with radials is as lame as you going to the Cadillac dealer and looking at a 2010 caddy and it has Goodyear supercushion bias plys on it. I mean think about that for a minute,IT'S THE SAME DIFFERENCE !!!!!!

I am just going to point out that radial tires are not necessarily period incorrect for post war, Michelin started selling radials in 1946. little food for thought.

eh, I can understand when some don't have all sorts of money hid under the mattress. I ran nasty ass white letter radials for awhile because it was what was on it when I bought it and I still wanted to drive it as opposed to hide it until I could afford bias plys.

It would be entirely different if you could buy them for $50 a piece.

I'm sticking with bias plies, even if my car handles like Stevie Wonder was behind the wheel.Radials on an otherwise traditional ride just ain't right, like marrying your cousin!
I'm normally sleeping at this hour(4.30 am),but my Bulldog just farted on my bed and I had to get out of there!

I'd love to run bias plys but I'm broke. Is paying $1000 for tires traditional?
