The new Hot Rod mag showed up in the mail and I see Racer-X got 6 pages coverage of his car and Drag Week, how cool is that? Congrats dude.
I think Brian deserves at the very least a few pages in Hot Rod. If his car is not a real legitimate hot rod then I am not sure what qualifies.
It's the orange ( now green) '31 Chrysler in this thread. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/rebuilding-after-the-crash.991650/ The article starts on Page 50 of the newest ( Feb. '18) issue of Hot Rod Magaizine.
Congratulations @racer-x for the well deserved press. Your part in keeping Vintage Hotrod flavor at the forefront of racing at the track as well as street level is commendable. Thanks @Sting Ray for the heads up...
There i am in the right hand corner. I found a few at one walgreens. I went to a few more news stands and they did not have them yet. I thought subscribers ussually got theirs first. I havent gotten my copy in the mail yet. Heres a pic from my crappy phone.
One advantage of the store boughts is no big address label printed or stuck over the front cover...which in your case will be kinda special anyways because it's you who is featured within...Pretty sure you're grabbing a few extras... You're no stranger to press but when I see my personal accomplishments in the spotlight it hits the heart a little...in a good way...congrats again...
...Drag Week was so cool this year,...the cars get better every year,... congrats to Brian,...here's a pic of it at the 2013 Iron Invasion...
Yes, it does. I still have a pristine, never opened copy of the Janurary 1962 issue. Congrats man. This will always be special to you.
The pics were taken during the meltdown drags on the thursday night before the race. We took them at the top end of the track. It took about 3.5 hrs to get THE shot. Over 1500 were taken total. Some shots were taken several times as changes were made to the flashes. As the sun started to go down the sky looked real cool. The car had to be repositioned several times to take advantage of the light. We also started to get attacked by mosquitoes. It got so bad it became unbearable and we took the car back to the trailer. Scott drove in fron new jersey to do the shoot. As soon as it was over he jumped in his car and drove back home. It took alot of planning and some good weather to pull it off. Thanks for all of the nice comments.
