William Clay Ford Sr., the lone surviving grandson of Henry Ford has died at age 88. It is extremely ironic it was on the 50th anniversary of the production of the first Mustang. Rest in peace Sir.
William Clay was head of the Continental Division that brought us the Mark II, arguably one of the most beautiful cars ever designed. RIP Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Bill Ford's brother Henry II wrote the checks to the racing teams but Bill had a lead foot too. This brand spanking new1960 Falcon was sent to Bill Stroppe's shop where a new Mercury 312 V-8 was installed. This was 2 years before the small block Ford V-8 was introduced. It was seen on the streets of Michigan regularly with Mr. Ford behind the wheel.
Finally the last living link to Henry is gone. Funny to think, William actually knew Henry. End of an era. Twitter @edsrodshop
