So I'm going to get serious here. This one is from me, developed over decades of attending the School of Hard Knocks (and I believe this with my whole heart): "Everyone is doing exactly what they want to be doing whether they'll admit it or not." Now of course there is a caveat to this (since we are being serious). We make thousands of choices that put us where we are. The caveat is that "Bad things happen to good people" - accidents and Acts of God can drastically alter the course - so if you or a loved one have been in a serious accident or have been stricken with cancer and you find yourself in a new and terrible place, I am not suggesting that you somehow intuitively willed yourself there or that you are there as the result of something that you did (or didn't do). Of course, if you or a loved one is fighting for your life and facing grim prospects, you did not make that happen. The caveat is for the unexpected accident or Act of God. But otherwise, well, there it is . . .
