Im working on a 56 TBird and it has lots of lead in the front cap can I just prime over it or is there a process for preping the lead for paint? the lead is fine just repainting the car. and I want the paint to last more than a week if you know what I mean.

Yep. Just clean the surface good before you do it.

i found the best way to do any bodywork over lead is to epoxy prime the leaded areas before you put any fillers on it. epoxys will adhere to the lead and your fillers will adhere to the epoxy primer if done within a certain time frame, usually 30 minutes after applying the primer.
