I found this project car posted for sale for not much money. Does any one know anything about it’s history? Or is anyone interested in it. The description said, Old race car from back in the day. Says tuned by Bill “Maverick” Golden. Car appears to have a 440 with offy valve covers which are pretty rare. Rusty here and there. Disc brakes on front 727 pushbutton. No cage
That is really cool! I would wash it carefully and maybe clear coat it to save the original lettering...
I found it on the internet. I would like to find some history on it for curiosity. If anyone is interested in it I can give them the contact information.
I believe Old Bill campaigned a 63 Dodge Max Wedge before the Little Red Wagon. This could be that car someone stuck a 440 in, after the Max Wedge expired, and after the Hemi that likely followed expired. Gene
Could be....from wikipedia: By 1962, he was a factory driver,[3] driving an S/SA Dodge. At the 1962 AHRA Winternationals, driving his bright yellow hemi "Taxi Cab" Dodge 330, he scored a "stunning" victory over "Dyno Don" Nicholson's 409 cu in (6,700 cc) factory Chevrolet at Fontana Drag City,[2] to take the Stock Eliminator title,[3][4] Chrysler's only Nationals win for 1962.[4] In 1963, Golden worked with Jim Nelson of Dragmasters to improve the car, and won seven Super Stock races out of eight events, taking the Midwest Championship.[4] At the end of the 1964 season, Chrysler proposed Golden drive the Little Red Wagon A/FX pickup.[3] which became drag racing's first wheelstanding truck.[5] The keys here are bright yellow and Dodge 330, the 440 was the more optioned car with the same body.
