To those of you who've used lowering blocks on the front suspension of your shoebox fords, what size drill and or bit did you use to drill out the rivets holding the spring cup to the A-arm? Thinking of doing this, but need to plan ahead if LARGE drill is needed. thanks dave
i cant remember what size bit we used . but i recomend throwing away the bolts that come with the kit and getting grade 8 ....... it's holding the front end together .....
you didn't have to use a big ol drill, just a common electric drill? I really don't want to have to get a drillpress or something serious like that. thanks dave
I chisled the old rivets off and pressed the rivets out. The rivets were 7/16" diameter, but I drilled & reamed the holes out to 1/2" and used 1/2-20 bolts, lockwashers & nuts - all grade 8.
