I recently discovered an old pontiac tach that I had thrown in a box of parts many years ago. Anyone know what vintage it might be? Thanks, Drewski
One of the few things I didn't get with my '64 Gran Prix, the tach on the console. Yours is probably 63-4-5-6 in there. Should be big $$$, you about found a box of gold there.
Thanks for the info. on the tach. It's not in such great shape and I haven't even tried to see if it works. It is like the one on ebay but with no cup. Pontiac Slim, if it works I don't know what would be a fair price for it. As I said it's condition is nothing to bragg about. Drewski
Hey... check it out & see if it works. I have no idea as to value. I was just interested as something else to put on the wall with rest of myPontiac stuff, not a big deal to me Pontiac Slim
Yup, mid 60s, probably out of a full size car. There were slight variations from one year to the next, but I don't know the exact details. Without the back cup you can mount it in a panel under the dash like I did:
I'd think the big cars used these from '63-66, was mounted on the LH side of the dash. Different iterations per year, some had adjustable redline control. The vacuum gauge was console mounted, came standard with Roto-Hydro, assume you could probably order with other transmission combos.
You are all close but it is for 1962-1964 full size. 1965 was different. Not rare either, there seems to be plenty of them on the internet. The 1965 and 1966 version is a different story and are worth much more. That tach should have an adjustable red line, that is what the knob is for. Hope this helps you.
