What other Chrysler corporation cars shared the 63 Imperial body style with the small rear fin ? Googled and couldn't find a Dodge or Plymouth version.
you would have been well advised to show a picture of the rear fin area . That might evoke some memories from some of us old guys.
Thanks! Now believe what wife and I saw yesterday was a flaming red 2 door 60 Matador. I remember those from my younger days my search was off by a couple years. One of my favorite fins of the era. Matador by the way is Spanish for ''killer'' and that fin is fitting of that name.
The 63 Imperial fin was the closest to what we saw yesterday, knew it wasn't right as it extends farther but it got cheapstreet duster thinking and leading me in the right direction. Need no more......... my curiosity is satisfied.
this red one is what we saw, came by quickly.used the Imperial fin description only to eliminate the huge fins of the earlier mopars and concentrate on the smaller more graceful fins when searching. again am grateful that cheapstreet duster understood the question asked and while squawblow pointed out the 63 Imperial as being totally unique it wasn't the answer being sought and came in after the right car was identified. Good supplemental info to the conversation but not ''correct'' in regards to the original question.
There are none. From 1957 to 1965, Imperial had its own body and chassis shared with no other car. Before 1957 and after 1965 they had a lot in common with Chrysler New Yorker. In fact, from 57 to 65, Imperials used the SAME body and chassis. It was heavily modified and face lifted each year, but from one year to the next, was basically the same car.
not to be confused with the dart of the same year (1960) Or the dart station wagon that had a 3rd separate fin style that year. Dodge, Helping to confuse car spotters for years................
65 Darts where referred to as 'baby' Imperials. He asked about small fin Mopars. That's why I posted my 65...not sure why the 60 Dart is posted. Those fins aren't really small.
