I just got my Offy 4 bbl intake in the mail and I was checking it out. Apparently, only 6 bolts on each side actually go to the block. There are a bunch of extra bolt holes that look like they belong but they don't go anywhere.
Is this right? Should I just bolt it up with the holes that go to bolt holes and just go with it? The order is for 49-53 intake and I can only assume I got the right one but is an older style intake going to have a different pattern?
    Any feedback is appreciated.

I am guessing this is for a Flathead? If so, there are extra holes. I plugged the extra holes in my manifold with chrome plugs.

You must have an 8BA motor.
A '48 and earlier motor uses all of the bolt holes.
Offy drills the intake to fit both styles.
    Not a big deal.

You got the right one for 8BA if it has the big hole on the left front for road draft tube and directly behind that a big hole for the crankcase breather oil filler.
