I've searched, but not found what I am looking for, so.....

My grandfather's 51 ford coupe needs exhaust manifolds/headers. Here's the booger, grandpa, being an old school hot rod guy, loved the chevy 350 motor, and that's what's in there now. Grandpa passed away 2 years ago, and the car has sat unfinished until I "inherited" it. I am trying to finish up his vision, and need advice about exhaust headers or manifolds that will fit a 350 chevy in a STOCK 1951 ford club coupe. Frame, steering box, crossmembers, all stock.

    can anyone help?

    thanks

When I layed a 350 in my 51 sedan I ran those block hugger shortys. It was tight on the crossmember but did clear. How much room do you have? I had no problems with anything exept the crossmember but I made my own motor mounts. I would get some stock manifolds just for measurement and go from there. Dave

yeah, the block huggers (center collector) are on there, and I don't know what gramps used for motor mounts, everything is just WAAAY close down there. what did you do for the exhaust pipe at the flange? a way tight 90degree bend? what kind of pipe did you use after the flange? I have a set of stock manifolds, both ram horn and "rear" exit (driver's side exits between the rear two cylinders), but I don't see enough clearance for the pipe and flange. I really want to get this sucker on the road, and this has got me stumped.

    thanks
