I bought a 32 5 window with full fenders. I want to leave the rear end in it because the car was built with that rear years ago. I want to redrill the axles and drums for 5.5 pattern. The question I have is... Will 4 1/2 wide 1940 Ford 16 inch wheels and 7.50 Firestones fit inside the fenders? Thank you

I wouldn't do this strictly on my say so, but a search showed 32 axle at 60+" and a 57 at 60 1/4". The narrow wheel probably won't stick out, but the fat tire on that rim might bulge out enough to cause a problem.

Most of the rear ends I have built for 32s seem to be about 55" wide. But these are normally used with wide tires and wheels with minimal backspace and no fenders.

I'm not sure there is enough meat in the 57 axle flanges for a 5 1/2" B.C.
