Hey guys. Ive got a 37 chevy project right now that i need fenders for (and a grille but i know the grille is different for all 3 years) I was just wondering if 36 chevy fenders fit on a 37 chevy. or can only 27/ 28 chevy fenders fit. Someone on the hamb hooked me up with a 36 sedan parts car but i dont know if it'll work! Thanks -Nick-
36 shares some parts with 35 Master only. 37-38 Chevy parts are just that, 37 and 38 Chevy parts. 37-38 fenders are the same front and rear. The hood, grille shell and grille, headlamps all interchange as an assembly. The bumpers, both flat style and curved style interchange as assemblies with irons.
Rear fenders are the same for all 37-38 Chevy passenger cars and sedan delivery. All NOS fender RR fenders have a gas filler hole in them which must be filled for use on Bus Cpe and SD. The Right rear fenders for Bus Cpe and SD from the factory do not have the gas filller hole since the tank for these bodies is just rear of the front seat and the filler is in the side of the body. They were only serviced for a short period of time after line production.
Ok thanks guys. If you guys are able to find anything reasonable also i started a thread in the classifieds section looking for parts thanks again for clarifying. Can always count on the HAMB!
Actually, 37 rear fenders are slightly different from 38's. One is a touch wider than the other, I've been told. It's one of those things you don't notice til the two kinds are next to each other. They will interchange in pairs just fine.
Correct. 38 Rear fenders are an inch wider on both sides, to compensate for the 2" wider rear track width on a 38.
Can you tell me what sheetmetal is shared. Was looking at putting a 35 grill and surround on a 36, and wondering about fit.
