WOW ... you guys have it down pat, the burnouts over the line, the multible dryhop starts, no 2-steps, 4-speeds.... I see a road trip in my future to drive over and watch. Top shelf job to all, keep it growing and going! Glenn

Great video! You guys put on a great show. I like how you're sticking to your guns on the period correct look, and I think the spectators will appreciate it. You can see a "mish-mash" of old cars just about anywhere, but a group of nicely matched, period correct gassers is fun to watch. I hope your gasser group really takes off.

I was planning to be there but I have a race in Ohio with my pro mod car that I can't miss.

  10. Wow that's a bummer, good luck in Ohio though  There's always next year.

Thats some mighty fine shifting their pal. To bad about not being able to make it to GA on the 29th. I would look foward to seeing the willys run.

I didn't know if racers in the 60s was using the Pittsburgh joint like we did in the late 70s or not to join there wheel wells together and I couldn't find any pix's of anybody's to find out so I just welded mine together. [IMG]

Another angle, in this shot you can see the lip I had to make to bolt the wheel well's and rear fender too. The ratty glass work you can see behind the wheel well will be trimmed up later. [IMG]

The drive shaft cover and center panels this was a lot of work I was not in the mood to take pix's while I was doing it for some reason but here's one with it ruffed in. The drive shaft cover will also be removable. [IMG]

The panel to separate the driver from the trunk was tuff to make but not near as bad as the lip that you can see that I had to make with fiberglass to bolt it too around the top and down the sides. It would have been a lot easier to do an a metal body I could have just welded it. [IMG]

Thanks, Quain, for taking the time to post your build pics. You've given me a lot of good ideas for my budget 39 Olds coupe project.

  20. Sweet build! Basic and clean.

  21. Hey we welded ours too, for the same reason. Tried to make the trunk look like someone in the mid-late sixties with some talent did it (except for the fuel cell of course). Hey, try the T-Handle on your shifter backwards, its way more comfortable, especially the 3rd gear shift (and 5th for me)

I try that with the t handle it is uncomfortable. I also didn't bead roll my alum because I didn't know if I should or not but I wish now I would have.

Great build thread, lots of good ideas! Any chance of a close up pic of the slider mounts on the rear end?

Sorry I've been slack on posting pix's for the last few days but I have been running wide open. Here's another angle of the rear alumn. [IMG][/IMG]
