Little different than the Pro Mod Stott used to run. Just looked and he still runs the Leeboy Corvette Pro Mod.
Here ya go. There's a few more on his Facebook page in the photos section. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Quain-Stott-Drag-Racing/216114251821048 .
Glad to see everyone enjoyed the video of Quain driving his Willys. Stott is a true hot rodder and says he's having a blast with his newly built hot rod Willys. Here are some shots that I took along with the video. I have more posted in my facebook album here http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.505714599442679.138174.100000124317021&type=3 Daron
He did a dry hop, been a while since i seen one of them. I was thinking his last name was 'Stott' Mitch and Quain, i believe in my photo album there is a pic or two of Mitchs' promod vette while it was in my shop.
Thanks for all the nice comments Ya'll I'm just an old country boy trying to release a little stress. If I had known every body was going to like the Willys this much (over 5000 views on you tube in about 2 weeks) I would have done a build thread on here. I built it in about 3 1/2 months (14 hour days) The only thing I bought was the body and a few other little things. Most of the other parts was old stuff I had laying around the shop or traded for. I only have $18000 in the whole deal. It is a glass body and I know some on here don't like that but it was all I could afford. I did a lot of work to make it look as much like a real body as I could and I'm not finished yet. I have pics of the build if Ya'll are interested let me know and when I get time I'll start posting them it will take a lot of time. Thanks again and thanks to Darren Gray for the video.
Welcome to the hamb Quain. Of course, everybody will want to see the build. Some of us think fiberglass is traditional! Very nice ride. Not everybody can afford to build an all steel Willys.
It has a jerico 4 speed that you have to use the clutch to shift I wanted it that way so it would be as much like the old days as possible. My pro mod goes 3.68 @ 207 in the 1/8 but this Willys is more fun to drive.
Quain, What are the 60 ft. times & what did you run in the 1/8th. You have a cool Willys! Thanks Duane
OK, cool Willys, but what's up with the wicked 55!! Never seen it till now. Looks like there's a new Sheriff in town.
Quain, I saw the write up on the gasser race at Greer. Wish I knew about it before hand. As close as Greer is, I've never been to that track. Are you going to make the Atlanta $10,000 in October? http://www.atlanta10000.com/
if a guy takes his foot off the gas while shifting a race car he needs an automatic. been so long since I drove a real car with a stick shift I probably forgot how.
60' is around 1.35 the best 1/8 has been 6.12 I have only about 6 passes in the car. In the video it has a 2" Hilborn stack fuel injection I think it's to small I'm working on a 2 1/2" Crower for it hope to pick it up to 5.90s.
Somewhere in the mid 9s. As far as keeping your foot to the floor on shifts, maybe-maybe not. Patting the gas pedal unloads the transmission and some folks are fast enough at it that you don't even hear it.
Quain, seeing you shifting that willy's in the video made me feel like a high school kid again. Once a guy had the shifter and clutch adjusted right it was like being one with the universe. I miss it a lot. Nice Willy's Quain. Lippy
Great in car video, looks like a exciting ride. ESPN needs to talk to you guys on how to do in car camera shots, the way they do it makes the cars look like their on a sunday drive to church.
