I wont call this a build thread more of putting it together for the reason all the hard work was done before i bought it. All I had to do to get this running so for was drop the oil pan change gaskets, re install and charge battery. The oil pan had a stripped oil plug with type of sleeve, easy fix welded up by my buddy slam couver. The original fuel tank is filled with alot of crap so I got a nice moon tank to put in the bed. So now im bolting the fenders back on.
IMO the Model-A roadster pickup is the 1 28-31 ford that needs fenders, all the other body styles have enough metal/substance to pull it off. These trucks at least to me, always look naked without them.
thanks i hope to have all the fenders and running boards on by the end of the week. I would probaly be alot further along if i wasnt working on my modern cars so much
Got a question running a electronic fuel pump do i need to run a metering valve or something to regulate fusl pressure
Not that you give a shit but I am defiantly an open wheeled kinda guy normally. With this one I kinda think it looks better with the fenders. You might be on the right track here, Or i'm just getting old. Either way I really dig it.
just use a cheap fuel pressure regulator, you can buy one from summit or jegs, or speedway for about $30.00
the one on the right is a front fender brace, for sure..the left? im not sure the front fender brace is a bit bent but it can be corrected, it has to fit on the inside curve of the front fender, the head light bar bolts down thru those two bosses with holes in them see it in the lower picture?
thanks i have been walking around the truck placing it every wear over and hour later come here and get a much needed answer
Never seen one of those on any of my model-A's. I remember the guy saying he grabbed a bunch of parts thinking it would work on his car. So I say just leave it out untill you get the rest together.
went with skinny tires the modern goodyears werent cutting it for me So I went with with atlas grip and go tires that where in the bed of the truck when i got it.
I started running my fuel line down thru the bed along the body rail trying to figuire out where to put my fuel pump and metering valve
I know Pushing fuel pumps mounted by the tank are more efficient than a pulling one up by the engine.
fuck yeah. I got my fuel lines done today, I just need to hook up the alt. battery and radiator and I should be driving. tires and tank look good are you going to post a video of it running tonight!
i didnt get much done tonight slam c ause i spent alot of time laying out the tank making sure it is there square and has even gaps on each side
