Around 10 years ago I got my 55 sunliner on the road and since it got Granada disc brakes and a Maverick rear the original rims would not fit so I put on aluminum wheels and put the original bottle caps away for safe keeping, now after tired of polishing those wheels I have gathered 4 steel rims and went to look for the caps where I thought they were in the garage and no where to be found and after looking through the garage they are not there and I know I did not get rid of them. It looks like I will have to get another set for them to show up.

  15. Some define insanity as doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result; they obviously have not looked for misplaced car parts; I have found it quite normal to look in the same place several times to find the part I was looking for.

When I can't find something I just assume I never had it ,It satisfies me enough not t worry about it.

I tried just never putting anything away, however that proved to be a temporary solution.

Yep, been there, done that! Sometimes they are where I thought they were, I just can't see them in plain open sight, other times, I put them somewhere not to lose them, then forget where I put them! Easiest way to find something is buy a replacement, then the original will be found, usually in open sight. Lost a NOS Sun tach a few years ago, looked everywhere. Luckily I found another just like it, when it came in, the wife found the first one, right where I'd put it for safekeeping! And I'm not even 60 yet!

I lost a pitman arm for 6 years. Of course, I wear a T-shirt that says "Now why am I standing in this room?"

Don't feel bad. I was cleaning the original dated seat belts from O/T '67 Corvette when I moved 10 years ago. I know I packed them, but where, I don't know. Have you priced those things lately? And now I'm retired on a fixed income.

I did finally find my lost Hurst shifter after 5 years.:)

I'll tell you how to find them...
Go buy another set, after you are finished installing the new ones, you'll find the missing ones.

My Dad was looking for a box of crackers; rooted through all the cupboards before he realized he was still holding them. I can't laugh too hard, though, because I do the same thing.

Mere Moments and what ever I need is gone, only to show up after I buy another of whatever it was that I couldn't find!
I now have 2 of at least every tool or part for what ever I am working on!
Sometimes I stop to think, and forget to start again!

Small hubcaps that cover only the center of the wheel. Standard equipment on the cheapest models in the fifties and sixties. Upgrade to full wheel covers if you buy the deluxe model. AKA poverty caps.
