More welding to make the body solid so I can lift it off.
    20151205_201400 (Small).jpg
Cut out the cross bars in the trans tunnel.
    20151205_114708 (Small).jpg
    Down?
    20151202_203129 (Small).jpg
Straight? (looks faster / flows better with the body)

    More welding / supports
    20151206_155601 (Small).jpg
    20151206_155625 (Small).jpg
After adding Grade 8 bolts for the body , the Passenger door didn't line up anymore!
    Thoughts -
Cut the support structure and re-weld it.
Cut the front pillar / post.
Cut the inner structure of the door and extend it....
    20151206_203955 (Small).jpg
The front bolt was tightened, and pulled everything out of wack.
Ended up shimming the front mount (That's what Henry did!) and it all lines up again.

Bracket for the cowl / steering hoop.
The Twisting of the steering wanted to lift the whole sub frame...Now it's solid!
    20151208_193923 (Small).jpg
Added tabs with nuts welded in to hold the cowl to the hoop structure.
Everything's starting get solid...i.e door alignment is holding up
    20151208_205231 (Small).jpg
    Just Do It!
Since it's my first Hot Rod Build & my body was missing the whole subframe + 6 inches up...
I had to build a "Subfame" from scratch to fit the altered frame...
I couldn't picture how to build everything...So I just got started with one piece at the time...
Lotso Lessons learned for the next build!

One of the tubes blew up inside one of the tires...better not drive on these tires!!...looks good from far but tires full of cracks!
20151213_133145 (Medium).jpg Met a guy who's altering wheels in his shop recently....NOW I'm thinking 16" wires in the front and widened 18" in the back to fit dirt track type tires.
    20151213_143205 (Medium).jpg Everything's lining up...even the doors!!
20151213_143232 (Medium).jpg Going to cut loose / re-weld / adjust the tube below the doors...just a tiny bit!
    20151213_143407 (Medium).jpg
Didn't cut the windshield post ends yet...til I figure out how to mount /make the top attachent.
20151213_143422 (Medium).jpg Take evertyhing apart, cleeco it back together and drill Bolt Holes for all the panels.
    20151213_143448 (Medium).jpg 20151213_155006 (Medium).jpg

Building a "shelf" to hold the Body while I'm finising up the chassis. 20160402_140749 (Small).jpg
Wife was on the beach with friends and I had to move the tub back in the garage.
My Hot Rod buddies was bragging about hernias...don't want one of those...!
So made a new tow bar...out with the tow truck!...
    20160402_150008 (Small).jpg 20160402_145956 (Small).jpg
Should be easy...bar slid off and the tub is coming towards me...w. new radiator up front...
Managed to line up the tires and stop it!! Phew.................!
    ended up here... 20160402_151615 (Small).jpg
screwed some brackets on so it wouldn't slid off again!
Then "tow truck" runs out of Gas!...in the middle of the street.
Grabbed a spare tank and a wrench...crawl under the Duster and pulled the plug out of the sump..
Tank is full!!! Some gas ended up in the tank..
    No Hernia though!

rolled the chassis out...placed the body on the front beam / rear beam...
Lifted the front with the Cherry picker...

Have any one used a sealer (Maybe Seam Sealer?) for areas like this?
PAINT! Watcha Guys used on your frames?...
There was an article here on HAMB that said POR 15 goes on better on surface rust...?..
If so I'm ready to go after a de-grease pressure wash...
