Just got back from Pate, and I must say it was a let down. Rained all day Friday, and then got burned Saturday. Got a few things, but the real reason for the trip to dallas was to pick up the sedan that MarkX has been working on. 4.5" chop, filled roof, patch panels Think it turned out well. 1 2 3 4
Sutton it was good to see you and your pops again this weekend. Wish we lived closer to each other so we could hang out more. Pops are about the same age and we all like cars, Anyhow I Got to see most of the progress on this car down at Mark X's and Bass Shop. Roof really turned out nice with the ribs. I think it was from a 58 ford Wagon. It was really long when he got it. Anyways I got to see it when he was passing through at a local gas station. Glad to see Mark finished it by this weekend. Now get to work on getting it set down on the frame. You got Three and a half months till the drags and you better be there. Glad yall made it home safely and all in one piece. Heres the pics I got Looked pretty wild going down the road. it just aint everyday you see a hammered A going down the highway. Good luck Sutton

Hey Sutton it was nice to meet you at Pate I'm sorry we didn't get more time to talk we had to make a quick pass and get back home. The sedan looks awesome. Jamie
What was the hammered top off of? I had my A take out a 14' garage door a few years back. The header is possibly broken, but I have not removed the top and visor to make sure yet. I am planning on coverting the stock A into a cruiser, but I am taking my time in planning what I want with it so far. I intend to do a highboy, fenderless style, but I am not ready to have her chopped. I have been toying with the hammered top idea, but saw a sedan at the Rod and Custom web site, that had a cloth top put over the metal top. I saw one sedan at Pate that had an upholstered top. It was ok to look at, but I did not like the custom visor on it. What is the going price to have someone do just the top to fill it in these days? Anyone in the Dallas/Arlington area to recommend? Pate was funny to me. I had never attended and I guess I had more expectations of it as a car show than a swap meet. Silly me! Quite a bit of the rods I saw were very poorly done. Prices were pretty bad on most of the drivable stuff, but that depended upon what you wanted and how bad you wanted it, I suppose. Becuase I was with the wife and her friends, they crapped out pretty quickly on me. Not their cup of tea to look through the junk. I think I could have made my fortune in selling parkas and jackets in the early morning though. The wind was whipping pretty bad and it was initially cool. Maybe I could have made my fortune in selling rain coats and umbrellas by the end of the day though. Huey

It's coming along really well in a short amount of time. I like the dash choice. Should be really original when completed -as in, haven't seen another like it yet. Mercman
Hell naw, called them again today, and they said they would be shipped 1st part of next week... Anyone else have trouble getting their orders from Vintage Speed?
