Hot Rods progress on 32 roadster,finished

I have the frame painted on the roadster, now for the fun part, assembly.

I got the front end done and put the engine in today.

got the chassis on some wheels. I think I like it.

 

Looks good, 4 speed as well. It always throws me, when I see current pictures, from northern states, and there is no snow. We're waist deep right now.

 

it was 65 and bright sun today.

 

got the chassis back from the muffler shop , now it has exhaust.
Also a forgotten score, I found a stock 25 louver hood in my parts stash. now I got a hood!

Question-- how does one forget he has a 25 louver hood?
BTW is Nichols steak house still in business?

 

I can usually remember all the parts that I collect for a project. This hood I don't remember ever getting. Nichols closed 3 years ago.

 

I got the roadster wired and running and I couldn't wait and drove it around the block today.

 

Looks like coated fuel and brake lines you used, what is it? Kiwi Konnection frame?
Looks real nice, I love a finished chassis that clean.

 

thanks, not coated but painted with rattle can tinted purple. yes kiwi konnection frame.

 

I got my new wheels and tires today. I shot pictures of it with just wheels, then with just hub caps, then with caps and trim rings.

 

Made soon good progress on the roadster. Got the top on it today. what do you think?

just finished putting in a '66 327 chevy with 350hp cam. it runs so much better than the 305.

 

327 and a 4 speed. I run the same combo, right out of my high school days ('65-'68).
Well done.

 

Up date: I just got the interior finished. here a few pictures. This was the first roadster that Rob has done. This is the first interior that I have ever had finished.

 

I have been doing body work and block sanding this winter. Hope to have it painted this march.

I'm so happy for you, a little jealous too as my roadster project has been stalled for far too long. Seeing more of these come together I'm finding myself motivated to get back on mine.

I did the prep for paint and here is the inside of the hood and trunk. next will be the body.

That SBC and 4 speed combo is just right for this Hiboy...Paint is beautiful, I thought you were going to just a 'red'.

Have you taken a heat gun to the 1/4 upholstery panel alongside the seat? It'll shrink it right up, after a fine mist spray of water.
Even a hair dryer, not as much concentrated heat as a true heat gun.
I like the deep dropped tube axle, too. Just looks 'right' on this roadster.
