Previous owner bitching

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Dr_X, Sep 10, 2010.

  1. It became your car the second he accepted the cash for it. What you do with it after that; whether it be fix it, flip it, or burn the damn thing, is none of his damn business. Tough shit on his part.

so the guy could not fix the car and sell for more cash.. LOL

Nothing new though... 25 yrs ago I bought a car that came into the shop with a bad trans and other problems. I bought the car cheap, fixed stuff, sold it.

Previous owner and new owner found each other some how..

I get a bitchy fone call from new owner wanting money back because I bought the car so cheap... ignore the money and time I put into the car.

Previous owner filed complaint with BBB against the shop.

It sounds to me like you fucked one of your buddies.
If I gave one of the guys in the club a good deal just so they could enjoy something that's out of their budget and they flipped it, I'd be pissed too!

Wow, i can't believe all of the responses this has gotten. I was just looking to vent a little. To clear things up.
I bought this from a guy I never met before, and thought I'd never see again(or at least hear from).
My intention was always to flip this truck.
I'm no mechanic, so the repairs were nothing too big. Mostly elbow grease and common sense.

Thanks for the support, fellow HAMBers.

Gotta find another car/truck to flip to make some more money for the hotrod fund.

Obviously this is really bothering you or you wouldn't have taken the time to go on a message board to ask something most people would have forgot as soon as it happened.

Since that is the case, I suggest you give him the profit and a couple hundred to boot. Then you'll no longer have to concern yourself over this.

Just because I spent my college days at good old Headshrinkers U falling down steps and filling toilet bowls with recycled beer doesn't mean I didn't pick up enough knowledge in between to help you out here.

A good friend of mine bought a 70 hemi cuda for 100,000 and before he picked it up, it was already sold to one of his clients. While picking the car up, the owner asked him what he was doing with the car, he told him that it was for a client of his, not for himself, so the owner wanted to know what the client was paying for the car, my buudy would not tell him anything. He told him, you asked for the $100,000 and you got it, be happy with that. He drove away with no drama. And his client paid $285,000 for those who were wondering.

I hate to sell local, especially when they want something but talk are hard-up, aren't mechanically inclined, jaw down the price, want to make payments, 2 weeks later the alt. or fuel pump go's.... get it at least out of the school district.

I once bought an old 69 Camaro drag car with a 440 in it. I pulled the 440 and sold it in the paper for 100 bux. The very next day it was in the paper for 300. I chuckled at myself for leaving 200 dollars on the table, so to speak.
