I just thought it was different
The vision and execution seemed pretty good
If is different from the norm anyway
As expensive and hard to find 32's are
Was wondering if it could be done to a 30/31 Sedan ????

Why turn a 32 into a newer 34? ?? Suicide doors n all, its sure going to confuse folks . Nice metal work though. Chop looks bitchin.

Nice execution though no I would have not chopped it. I wondering if the fellow was selling his house to pay for the car? LOL

The ones we had in the UK came with suicide doors.

Reminds me of the stupid 32 tub that brookville makes.
Every line on a 32 is vertical, grille, firewall, door openings.
Then you put an angled door opening, visually,it doesn,t flow

Why? He's building a nostalgic car (flatty and split wishbones), but trying to be cutting edge on the body changes. Mixing his metaphors.

  8. Yeah, thats what it reminded me of at first glance. I actually like it.

  9. Great thought , and great work to make this different, but nice. This style could have been a prototype for the 1933-34 ford tudors.

  10. Thinking outside the box that's for sure & I can appreciate the work done, it looks to be flawless and well executed but I prefer the stock sedan body of Henry's vision of my favorite car. HRP

Nice workmanship, like the chop but don't really get the doors. Oh well everyone has their own ideas.

Can only echo what others have said. Nice looking work but I don't like the door treatment.

  13. The suicide doors would sure make getting in and out a whole lot easier, especially if you got bad knees, hips or back. That alone sells it for me...

wait till you see my wife's step brothers, beautiful stock '34 tudor, he put doors hinged at the front.
It was original paint, interior, running gear, etc. imagine the best un-restored...
he worked at Harrah's back in the day..in the body shop division..
    I PUKED....

This angled door opening/body line has been argued here before like on my Hubba Hubba thread. Lest we forget the 32 3w Coupe that most lust after has a angled front door/body line. A-pillar isn’t exactly vertical either. Then there’s this idea the car is straight lines everywhere like it has zero curves. Last I checked the grill shell, hood tops, cowl, rear roof corners, not to mention fenders and the famous frame reveal all have curves-o-plenty. Henry’s own idea...

As for the OP’s topic, maybe he like me really wanted to experience suicide doors, are they not nifty or what?

At risk of sounding like a righteous jerk I will go out on a limb and assume that Henry wasn’t as uptight about these details as are we. We’ve had near 90 years to be emotionally clinging to these sculptures.
I think Ford was more practically driven. I would guess that the suicide door got the angled leading edge for foot clearance when swinging one’s legs in or out. Not so much a style cue. All of the verticals too probably came from already being done that way back to a simpler form. It’s just a door frame and it unfortunately has to have one. As goes for the hood too.
I am constantly miffed by my 32 pu doors not being flush. My belief that it is a horrible line when looking at anything except from 90 degrees is not alone out there. If I meet the man behind some pearly gates I hope it’s after I’ve flush mounted mine and he will forgive me this transgression.

That's Shaun's. He worked at Steve's Auto Restoration in Portland for 20 years and went out on his own last year. He does some really nice work. I tried to post some more pics, but instagram wouldn't co-operate . #hotrodfab

the rear of the roof on a 3 window leans forward so to me the door line doesn,t look out of place.
On a sedan ,it is doesn,t suit the car

Not that it makes a big damn in the scheme of the world of cars what mine or anyone else's opinion, is if the guy likes what he's done, why should I criticize him and his work . I buy in with all the positive comments and disagree with the negative one's and like I say who gives a big shit what I think anyway.

I like it - the rear of the sedan body angles back somewhat and this seems to work to my eye. Like a 3W with a back seat!
