How about joining the Pittsburgh social group and ask one of the members if they would be willing to check out the car for you. HRP
I had the best bet with the of nationwide club I’m a member of. I am member of the Cadillac club and the Fairlane club. Reaching out through the member listings and find someone to help that way. For professional inspection services... From what I read in some inspections. They have sort of standard playbook of things to check. I would send the an expedited list of things you must see. If someone on hamb lives close enough you may get some help. Make sure to get lots of pictures and descriptions before you commit. I made a list of questions and specific pictures I needed. If it runs get videos. The worst case scenario is flying out with funds to see and buy it. Also note one thing I learned, “rust” means different things to people in different areas. I passed on a car I went out to Detroit to see. It was the best 300.00 bucks spent, as I would have been mad about it buying and seeing in person the first time. It was quite a bucket. The seller sold it for a qtr if the asking price two weeks later and a flipper is trying to flip it in ebay right now. “Rust free” Another route is to see if there is a local hot rod shop the car can be driven to. That way if the have a lift the underside can be seen also. Then you can also get the opinion of someone who works on cars. Better a vintage car service mechanic than a modern one.
In the past, I had a car inspected on the west coast by a trusted friend, and another time, I flew to Buffalo, New York, to look at a car in Canada. The owner picked me up, and took me to see the car, I bought the car, stayed over night at his house, had a great breakfast with him, and his family, and then flew back home from Buffalo. Later, a friend and I drove up to Canada , and brought the car home..Don't be afraid to step up. Fly up to see the car. That way you can determine for yourself if it is what you want, and are willing to pay for it. The cost of the flight could be a small price to pay if the car isn't what it was supposed to be. , Fly up to see the car
