Needed some dimensions for my ‘32 project. Didn’t like the shape of my A pillars. Have a friend with an original ‘32 he has owned since ‘62. When he got it, it had an Olds engine and a ‘39 Ford transmission. Drove it that way for a while. They then swapped in a brand new, just released 289 Ford. The rear of the original frame is Z’ed and the front suspension is VW! ‘51 Merc dash and a heavy channel. Hasn’t been driven since the mid ‘60’s. Got my dimensions and a couple pics of the car.

Could have been worse with the VW breeding... user9646_pic342434_1321914343.jpg user9646_pic342435_1321914343.jpg

That will be a great shed or barn find for someone someday.

big deuce that's terrible! Someone had no respect for that 32-5 window.

What's your friend gonna do with it? Does he have plans? Does he have other cars he works on or drives?

He has a lot of other cars he restored, shows, drives and enjoys. He's at odds on what to do with the '32. He kind of wants to put it back like they were headed when it came apart in the mid 60's for updates. On the other hand he wants to do it a lot better than it ever was. He wants to get rid of the VW front and go more traditional. He admits he probably won't ever get to it but he has sons that are into cars and they have talked about a lot of options. I've tried to buy it for probably 20 years and today was the first time I've actually seen it. It needs EVERYTHING. His boys have restored some cars already and they think they have a plan. It will probably never leave that family.
