Ok, not sure which way to proceed.
59a with early edelbrock tall dual intake. I've got a powergen which I want to run but it's fouling on manifold intake runner, I've read you can shorten the case, had a little look but stuck on how to get case off.
Case Allan head bolts are super tight.
Has anyone had any experience in this mod.
    Thanks, thommo

I had to shorten one slightly on an 8BA with edelbrock regular manifold . But I only took off half the amount between the slots and rear housing cover. Where does yours sit when mounted at the correct belt tension height?

Must have the long one al, got mine from rocket industries and they only listed one type, they were also $100 cheaper.
Can't go with carb spacers as bonnet clearance will be an issue.
    Looks like chop chop
    Thanks for replies and help

The case cover comes off with the two bolts at the back, not the allens on the front cover.

Just as a follow up, I shortened the housing by 3/4", as I no longer had cooling vents in rear I drilled 6 evenly spaced holes, I'm assuming it's better than nothing. Took the oem pulley of and mounted one of speedways offy fan adaptors.
    Used a 34 fan I had.
As a side note the ford fan mounting bolts won't fit, they're a course thread where as the offy pulley is fine.
Go to your old flathead stash and grab the bolts of the oil pump cover, correct length and ford bolts to boot.
Hope this helps someone with similar setups. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1419920044.068528.jpg

thommoina33, I don't recall seeing an air cleaner exactly like the one pictured before. Can you share any details about it?[IMG]
