My first old truck, 1953 Chev, bought it in 1974 when I was 15 and swapped out the seized Engine.
Had it on the road for my 16th birthday Jan/75.
choffman 41, that look's like it could be HRP's truck in the 90's LOL
Only one I ever had.
My dad bought his '58 Apache when I was ten years old and it was his mostly-daily driver and work truck until a few weeks before he died...
I towed it home shortly after and realized that Dad had started to pull it apart, wiring first, just before he passed. It patiently awaits getting back on the road, but only after a thorough going through. 60 years of working have left the old girl beaten, battered, and rusty.
My senior year in high school: 1977...."Looking real good", so I thought then!....at age 17 with my 41' Ford pickup, just before I went off to the Navy
This was a 36 GMC my dad had when I was 14, I learned how to drive a 4 speed in this truck, it had a 327 and car 4 speed
1st series 55 in 1977. Man, I was a skinny turd back then.
Here's my first old truck. A 1960 F100 Lightweight Racing Truck. Oh wait, it's actually just really rusty and slow.
Here is my first, 1962 with a 292 and a 4 on the floor.
My Dad bought this 55 Cameo in 1987. I did an amateur restoration and then it was totaled in 1996. I've been slowly restoring it since.
My truck didn't look that good when I started.
I sold the truck in the 80's and it change hands several times, the last time i saw it they painted it red and it had billet wheels and splash graphics,,,it was ugly. HRP
Dad bought it in early 70's
I got it back in 2007
this is the oldest picture I can find, must be from some time between Feb and August 1977. Dad bought the truck, we pulled the motor, and it took several months to get it back together. I still have the truck.
Do these count. My gentleman's pickup. Traded a 63 nova for it back in 74.
Now if they dont count,
This I rebuilt in early 90.
Evolution of the same truck over 30 years. There have been many others, but I still have my first truck.
mines in my Avatar. Cant never get pictures to load correctly. Its a 52 currently all in primer, beds off, hoping to finish by mid summer.
yikes--one of my two favorite, I got parts to build me one of these-either pickup or possibly a custom woody!
Gift to me and my twin brother from our grandparents in 2000 on our 16th bday.
Just found this thread. It don't get any better than that.
Crap, I loved that thing. Drove it for the better part of ten years. Rebuilt everything with my own two hands. Unfortunately I was young and impressionable, and for about a month dived full into Za Zen. Meditation. Incense. Nothingness. Cute hippy chic. Decided to "release myself" from the material things I "loved" most, for the benefit of my "chi". Gave it to some kid from Canada, (amongst other things).
A week later, girl wasn't interested in me, I was done with Zen and kicking myself in the ass! Oh well, I never was a smart man....
Definition of the best off road truck : The one the tow truck has to go the farthest to pullout.
I wish I had pics of my fist old truck, my first truck period actually. It was a jail bar, '47 and ugly as butt. Back then they were just old trucks.
My first truck was this 1941 Ford that I drove to work at Alvidos car wash in Goleta California in the summer of 1966 which had been a house painters rig and one day the owner decided to paint his pickup since he had product
