    i had the same thing happen, they replied to a wanted ad then only would take a moneygram-no thanks.........

    I must admit to being extremely fortunate in the car hobby in general, in all venues; swap meets, classifieds, forums like this one, etc.

    I think part of it is my 22 year law enforcement career. Just when you think you have seen it all, you see something new. I was fond of saying, "Yes I believe you, but you have to prove it to me also".

    The only thing I have ever been burned on was a commercial pressure washer I purchased at the swap meet in Englishtown, NJ a few years ago. Supposedly just needed a carb cleaning. Turned out to be a bent valve.
    $130 down the drain, but the extra heavy duty commercial frame on wheels became a perfect engine stand for my flathead. Lesson learned: If you don't see it run, it may not.
