Im going Friday! I'm a swap meet virgin, i've never been to this one! finally have a reason to go....63 impala parts here I come!

 

Friday and Saturday for me..

 

last year i went Friday, Saturday and Sunday... there was a '69 dart for $4k on friday. it was $3k on saturday. $500 sunday at closing.

sunday is a great day for picking up stuff that wasn't good enough for the masses that got there early and could afford "nice" stuff...

I heard the Portland Swap Meet advertised on the radio today as "the Largest Swap Meet on the West coast".

Is it really bigger than the Pomona swap meet in California?

 

I will be there.. Chris see you Friday with those 60 f100 parts.

As far as I know, this is largest swap meet west of Mississippi and has been for about 30 years. Now with PIR its probably the biggest in the county. I walked 6 miles at the track last year. I had to do it 3 times just to make sure I did not miss anything. lol.

 

I'll catch up with you too. I gotta meet up with Chris and grab a grill shell for my coupe.

This shit's gonna be fun!

i used to go to Pomona... nearly every one for years. not sure if the Expo center swap is bigger or not. FEELS like it because i'm tugging a wagon with kids in it behind me here.

Pomona is billed as 10 miles of isles. what i really liked about Pomona: every 5 weeks... not just once/year.

add in the PIR swap with the Expo and all together it's f'ing huge... and a good time.

 

never been to pomona, but with PIR and EXPO... 4 days isnt enough for me. I STILL see new stuff on sunday that I missed all weekend.

 

i like the PIR/Expo swap better... between the weather (like it more here), the people, the prices... all around better here.

the only thing i don't like: i can't buy everything i want

going to PIR at 7 this morning, try to make it to the Expo center by noon. lookin' for crusty 30/31 A coupe sheetmetal with vigilance and determination

 

Hey everyone! First day of the swamp is officially over and it was rad! I walked the PIR yesterday and Hall E and D today. Tomorrow... Halls A,B,C and west side..

We had a cool little turn out for the noon meat and greet! My dad, brother and I met about 5 Hambers and we all shot the breeze for a while. Real good time, thanks to all that showed up!

Now off to bed to re-energize for day three!!!

For thoes who did attend today (Friday) the weather was a real treat.

Tomarrow looks like it's going to give us a real wet cold one. So come prepaired. I'll be there at 6AM with a hot mug of joe.

 

Leaving here at 1:00 AM, should be there around 7:00, hope to meet alot of you. Will be wearing a HAMB sign around my neck.

 

Man I wandered around for about 4 hours, bought a few things, nothing special. I didn't get to stay long, but did meet up with Chris for a 1933-34 wishbone.

I also missed out on a stromberg 97 for 20 bucks asking price by mere seconds.....sucker just forked over the money....I would have offered half
