Maybe somebody can photoshop the Carson style that is really low at the back half of the roof. It would flow downwards like the flow of the front fender treatment.

I believe the chop itself is not done in a complimentary manner...I'd say maybe too much but what doesn't work even more than the chop is the flow or transition to the back...its too flat...in my seasoned but not professional opinion. The oddball back window could work...but when you have lack of coach building finesse the changes may be debatable in other areas modded as well.

Absolutely nothing wrong with a stimulated mind and design at all...except stumblingly stimulated may stifle the Sweet Spot...;)

I would hope you have done a bit of research as there could be a previous more complimentary vision that has been lost in a more recent attempt at what was thought to be right...

If you are absolutely against Customs I get it but they didn't call them lead sleds for nothing...that was yesterdays bondo...and once sculpted the results are many times favorable and downright stunning...I don't mind the treatment...fix the roofline and stand back with a beer...

    Congrats on your new toy...;)

The Carson top will be a big improvement, I'm an early Ford guy so have to ask what it was to start with. Bob

A normal back glass and a longer back side glass might help too without gettin too crazy, forgive my humble photo shop attempts:D upload_2019-5-29_19-0-13.jpeg

Lots of potential with this car, I remember playing with it in Photoshop in the other thread. This car is crying out for a 46-48 Olds waterfall style grille. I'm sure the roof could be reworked into a better shape but I really love the Carson top concepts.

    That back window is putrid!!
The whole chop is wrong, more is not better.
The Carson top seems the best solution by far , it makes the whole car flow . As it is the first thing you see is a bad chop, the chop should not overpower the whole car, it should be part of the whole design .

  21. You gotta cut that roof off. Carson top is the tits but at least cut the roof off even if you do nothing else.

If all the Bondo is coming off you need to save it in a trash can so you can have a guess the total weight competition. Bob

Well, your next 4 or 5 years is all planned. Nice project.

  24. Grind out the Bondo, braze all the bad spots up and melt a wheelbarrow load of lead on it. Do it the traditional way

That roof is a hot mess. Window shape and proportions are all off.
Also, the Sedan like straight B post doors don't work at all well on a "Coupe" styled body. Leaned B posts would flow better especially with a chop. Which brings me to ask. What did this start as? It doesn't look to have a Chevy Sedan or Coupe trunk lid. Looks as if someone fit a Sedan roof to a Coupe?

I'd wager the roof has a shit load of bondo in it. Agree with lopping it off in favor of a Carson top. Unless you get lucky and find a good donor Coupe roof on a parts car that's rusted up to the door handles...

I kinda like it. I love the fade away fender treatment and quad headlights. You have to fix the back window though that looks like shit and throws off the entire roof in my opinion.

    Looks great @Stogy !!

Some great ideas on this car where attempted, but poorly executed.

    Tons of potential
