  1. Nope!
They say everything has been done. I think this is another one of those builds that challenges the statement.

Another "find" at the Fredette Parts Depot? I'm really into your build, and the motor tranny combo is perfect. Always liked 283's. Keep up the good work, watching for sure!

I've got a well rounded parts pile ready to go. think good ol 60's junkyard power to 3.00 gears. zing zing! my job is to go as fast as possible for as little $$$ as possible. no blowers or 34 parts here. (eli's got the line on the 40)

This build reminds me of the fella over in Europe that posted a build on the HAMB where he started out with a VW cowl or some such euro car and built a hot rod out of it.....wish I had the link.

  11. I am completely in love(lust) for this type of build. When I was little & GrandDad was still around, he had all his piles of 'goodies' all over the property. He tore down buildings and cleared out any kinda of scrap wood, appliances, metals etc. I remember pieces of old ('20-30's) cars in one pile with other large pieces of metal. I could only view from this wonder from afar. One piece was the back end of a large, model A 4dr sedan looking body, cut off at front door jam. (a-pillar) It had been made into a trailer, with the doors used as the trailer sides, cut off frame & all. The 'tongue was were the rear bumper was & it was pulled backwards like a mini-horse trailer. Thanks Dad for filling in the details of this......nothin' to do with your build, just sparked an old memory

ummm. did you weld up the wrong door? Wondering how you will scoot over the transmission tunnel? Bench seat? Or will it be RHD? o_O
Whatever the case, I *really* like your build and vision. This is gonna turn out great! Cant wait to see more!

Ive thought the same thing. Especially since Im under the impression he might sink the floorboards down into the frame! But hey, all I want is to see it look totally bitchin on the road, he can deal with getting in and out.

Being honest, when I first saw this thread the other day I figured it would get deleted. Now, checking back in, I am really impressed with the vision and how it is coming together!

I am now subscribed to this thread and can't wait to see more progress.

You should start a thread promoting the events. Maybe let us guys with traditional cars know how we can get involved. I love the idea of going to Loring and watching some land speed racing.

It is closer than Bonneville, do all the cars run under the same SCTA build rules? Bob

    YES, @kasselyn29 PLEASE DO THIS.

If you have a facebook presence, I have a group for New England events in my sig. There are others as well. That may go a long way to getting the word out also.

This is great. Kind of evil looking. If the '40 hood doesn't really do it for you think of '37 Deluxe-'39 Standard. I know they've been done a lot lately but the hood/side panels and grills of those years would add to the sleekness.

I love that you are thinking outside the box. I also like the direction you are heading in.
I did a little photoshop to suggest a different door style.

I used a 39 Hudson hood that looks to have pulled sled and target practice duty in the woods of NH.
It was a lot cheaper than a 40 hood would have been so the nearly botched V section-job I did only made me scream a little.

I don't have a great picture of it apparently. I need to wheel it back out when the weather clears.
