I picked this car over the weekend and I am wondering what year it is. The guy I got it from said it was a 33 pontiac, it looks just like my 34 chevy except for one of the body lines. The ID tag says the body number is 3934 so I figured that it was a 34. Thanks any information.

I was at that auction. A couple of weeks ago I was thinking about the car and how I should have bought it. Then last week I seen it for sale and could not pass it up again. I might build it, depends on if I can find a door.

That was the auction. Hard to pass up $5.00 doors. I bought the "30, or"31 Model A roadster quarters, and the "27 T coupe rear section and cowl for next to nothing. Good times.

3934 doesn't match up to any of the body style numbers for 1933 or 1934 Pontiacs. Would that be the serial number?

    1933 body style numbers
    8 CYLINDER CONVERTIBLE COUPE 33318
    8 CYLINDER FOUR-DOOR SEDAN 33309
    8 CYLINDER ROADSTER ROAD
    8 CYLINDER SPORT COUPE 33328
    8 CYLINDER STANDARD COUPE 33317
    8 CYLINDER TOURING SEDAN 33331
    8 CYLINDER TWO-DOOR SEDAN 33301

    1934 body style numbers
    8 CYLINDER CONVERTIBLE COUPE 34318
    8 CYLINDER FOUR-DOOR STD SEDAN 34309
    8 CYLINDER FOUR-DR TOURING SDN 34319
    8 CYLINDER SPORT COUPE 34328
    8 CYLINDER STANDARD COUPE 34317
    8 CYLINDER TWO-DOOR STD SEDAN 34301
    8 CYLINDER TWO-DR TOURING SDN 34331

looks 33 to me because i don't remember black dogs being standard equipment on the 34 model.

  11. 3934 is probably the body number but not the model number. Serial numbers are on the frame, so you're left with the model number (sometimes on the tag it says "Job No.") -

I don't know that there's enough left to make a big difference which year it is, though. Pick one and build accordingly -
