Does anyone know of any intakes besides the weiand single four intake for polyheads? I think I've seen two fours in cast iron but don't know if they will fit all the polyheads. I recently aquired a 57 plymouth with a 301 and would like some kinda tradional multi-carb set up. Any info would help

I know Wiend made a 2x4 intake for the Poly motors. Here's a picture of one on a 318 poly motor in my old 59 Plymouth. Gary

  3. I've seen 3x2 intakes but they may have been for poly 318's.

Thanx guys, Ididn't know weiand made a 2x4 in alluminum, any idea where one might be found? Does anyone know if 318 poly intakes fit 301's . Someone said they were all the same exept for a 315 or 325 that hemi heads would fit on. Does anyone know anything about that. Also is my 1957 301 extended crank? Thanks Chad

    The Polys that are based on Hemi Blocks are different than the 318 Poly "A" engine. Your's is an "A" 277, 303, 301, 318. OEM 4 & 2X4 intakes. Weiand 4V part#7503.

Yes, your 301 is extended crank. I believe 301 and 318 Poly intakes are the same. 315 and 325 Dodge intakes do not match up. Neither do any of the chrysler or desoto engine intakes. The weiand single 4, a Cast iron stock dual 4, a Weiand or Offy 3X2, and an Edelbrock 2X4 are the only ones I have seen for the polys. Unfortunately, the Weiand single 4 is the only one still in production. You can find the dual 4s frequently on Ebay. Usually they go fairly cheap. If you get one, run two eddies with a progressive setup and you will be happy... Mine got 22 miles to a gallon with that setup and ran like a raped ape when I goosed it.

An Edelbrock P600 3X2 intake would fit your engine, but they've been out of production for years.

There's one right here on my desk. :)

No shit. My wife does her makeup for work every morning at my desk, right beside it - 3 carbs and all.

Believe it or not, it was the one thing I went to the Mopar swap meet looking for, and the first thing I found at the first booth I went to. I happened to be with my grandma at the time, and was fully prepared to give the guy the $100 he was asking for it, but my grandma stepped up to the plate and stole my thunder... I STOOD THERE AND WATCHED MY FUCKING GRANDMA HAGGLE A DUDE DOWN TO $90 ON A $300+ INTAKE!!!!

And yes, this is a picture with a single Stromberg WW on it - the plan is to use three of those instead of EEs (aka 97s) with adapters. This is a pic from a study of how much clearance I have/need done before the mockup - there are three WWs on there now, and a 4th on the desk behind it (with the fuel filter still on it).

Yup! Now that you mention it, there was a thread quite a while ago where someone had a part off a 318 that should have fit, but didn't.

Do you remember what part it was? The only thing that I know as being differenrt is the pustrods. Some, but not all 326s had non-adjustable rocker arms, and the pushrods were ball-ball instead of the ball-cup for the adjustable rockers. If there's something else that doesn't change over, I'd like to know.

The edelbrock p600's are around, they dont come up that regularly but you do see them.

  16. the 326 is a .040 bored 318,actually a 324,and all a polys should be checked for hydraulic or mech. lifters before ordering/swapping parts.if you want to run a modern 904/727 behind a early a,the cranks interchange.

From 1956 to about 1966 or so, there were around 1200 Edelbrock P600s made, according to them.

That first P600 cost me $90 in 1963 and by the time I had it set up with reco 97's, linkage and air cleaners it owed me $220. I sold it in 67 for $150 when I fitted one of the very early Weiand 4 barrels.
I bought another P600 with 94's for $600 in 2003 only to find when I got it home that it was my original from the 60's!

I have an Offy 3x2 for my 260. I know it is a different motor than what you would be looking for but they may make one for yours
