I just finished building this hood for Tony Vida’s 29 roadster today. Thought you guys might like to see it. Is probably going to get painted but I polished it anyway.<p>[IMG]

Too nice for paint. Just needs a leather strap over it now.

I love the polished hood, it would be a shame to paint it. Do you happen to have any pics of the build? I'm interested in how you rolled the edge and the hindge.

the hindge is a .063 aluminum piano hindge from msc industrial supply. here are the only other pics I have of the wired edge, rolled with a dolly and hammer. and vice grips with duct tape over the jaws

That is beautiful. If it were mine it would stay polished to show off your work. I really like the row ow rivets holding the hinge. Spectactular.

I appericate the information. I'm gonna have to try that edge treatment when I attempt to build a bomber style seat.

Looks great Matt! I'd vote for no paint on that as well. The bare metal looks really sweet with the black.

Add a couple more pics and some instructions and you might be in the running for the Tech week prize! Nice work on the hood, I will definitely be bookmarking this one for later use.
