It seems that theres an awful lot of people on here who dont know what a traditional hotrod is. International trucks were never used for traditional hotrods

    3. Gotta easy question? Try using the search function first.

    4. While we don't require "introductions," some members do appreciate them so it might be a good idea for you to do one here. Just introduce yourself and let folks know what you are all about

Wander what would happen if Ryan said, lets up the cut off 10 years or make it a rolling 50 years old or older or something like that?
Seems like a good percentage are just a bunch of grumpy old men complaining about something anymore.
    Are we on the decline?
Dont hate me or tell me off too bad, or ban me for asking, I think this is the greatest place on the net but sometimes feel we are excluding and/or turning away too many would be flame carriers from the hobby and greatest car place their is, for future generations to be able to learn something or carry on any tradition.

  17. Which tradition?

Sometimes it feels like hanging out in a nursery and sometimes it feels like hanging out in a nursing home. But more times it’s just right.

Long time H.A.M.B. members do stupid shit all the time too.

Go to any one of the “Show Me pictures of your whatever” threads and marvel at the number of idiots who can’t follow basic instructions.

You hit the mark with your perception. We probably are predominantly age advanced. Grumpy or grouchy at times. Helpful and happy most of the time. If you can’t handle the truth don’t come here . HAMB is hard but honest. O/P is correct about the smartest people being here. I am one of the advanced age members here and have learned a lot from this site in the less than 1yr. i have been a member. So much in fact, it is the only site I go on,

Took me a while to find the "rules". I think I only had two posts deleted in the year since I joined. Seems good to me as we only learn from our mistakes.

Back in 1962 in southside Oklahoma City, there was a guy named Billy Towe had a chopped '37 Binder with a Lincoln flathead that made believers out of several store bought Chevys and I think he would have taken exception to your comment.

The one newbie thing that fries my butt is individuas joining to be able to post their advanced wisdom on a thread that has been dead an gone for over 10 years and in one case the OP had passed away. Google will burn your ass when you find something on the HAMB in your random search as much as it helps you.

On the rolling cut off thing, I absolutely hate rolling cutoffs when it comes to what is allowed an what isn't.
I have a hard time dealing with the flakes who when seeing my hot rod tell me that "next year my car will be a classic and I can put classic plates on" By that standard I only own two vehicles out of 8 that don't qualify as "classics".

I lost track of how many individuals with questions on OT cars that I have suggested that _____________ forum would be far better for questions on their car than here.

Some of my greatest influences have been Grumpy old Men that I deeply respect but when they started their rant about something I would head the other direction...I may have been accused of being one myself before but dont believe in running the youngins or newbies off if I can help it:D
