They made many but the good ones will not have a upper intake bolt in the runners.

    Hello,
Here are two of the fastest 315 HP Chevys that always won in the stock car classes at Lions in 1958-60. The drivers were very quick at the start line and on the shifts. But, the next group of Chevys that came in with 320-350 HP in 1960 started the new winning trend. The older 348 cars could not keep up with those new 1960 320-350 HP cars. But, these two cars kept those newer 60 model Chevys honest. So, it may be the driver if the cars are close in HP. They were always selected to put on a show at intermission shows on big time drag racing days. The Lemans type start was very popular.

  28. DDDenny,
Thanks for posting. Norm Beechey is one of my motor racing heroes. I watched him race numerous times as a kid. He entertained the crowds and certainly left me with fond memories from my childhood days.
I have seen this car race at our local hillclimb as part of one of the Dutton Grand Prix Rallies back in about '94. This track is narrow and tight. Norm as usual didn't hold back and gave this big Chevy a good work out. Always a pleasure to see Norm in action.
