I am helping a guy clean out a shop. We have come across these woodie parts and are not sure what they fit. Does anyone know or seen some like this before. We are looking to sale but don't know how to list the parts. One guy local said may have been made by Hercules Motor Cars..... woody1.jpg woody2.jpg woody3.jpg

It's the same general shape, but the parts are quite different, if you spend some time looking at them.

I wonder if they were building a one off woody body project? not a copy of a production woody?

If you can get us some dimensions, it should help us narrow it down.

    Hello,
It is difficult to eyeball or even get good measurements/proportions for any woody shape. So, if you could take a photo of both the door and the rear section side by side on a level shot, then it would make the comparisons easier. Don't have the large plank in the middle, either.

That way, comparisons to old photos and ones we have seen everywhere will pop up. If it is stock, it will show up. They look like custom made, but, that is what comparisons are for, to identify what is what. Thanks... We all love a mystery!

Something like this, but an actual side by side even or level photo...

It looks like they were never quite finished, as the cut above the side window is not rounded off smooth.

Look's like someone was building a "faux" Woodie to me. All flat panels, no finger joint's etc. all work that can be done at home with a table saw and router.

Plus, most woodies were/are 4 doors. That plus the woodworking being more 'at home' than 'master joiner' along with the leaned back windshield (40s) with flat sides (30s) makes me think phantom or custom.

Given the title of this thread, I was hesitant to open it - then when dimensions were requested - I'm outta here.:eek:

That could be a FUN project if you could figure out what chassis it was made for.
