Please help ID these (Model A?) springs

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by JimSig, Jan 16, 2010.

  1. I thought both of these springs were Model A rear. Both have 2" wide leaves. But from there they sure are different. The top one has 10 leaves, and the one on the bottom has 8. And notice the difference in the unloaded width. Anybody know if one or both are Model A? Thanks HAMB'rs.

They were different depending on body style. Sedans and pickups had 10 leaves, coupes had 8 and roadsters had 7. The more leaves they had the more it pulled the main leaf into a curve making the spring appear higher when unloaded.

    I second that.

Weren't the truck T springs larger?

  8. The bottom spring is T, they are 2" wide, A springs are 2.25" wide. Perhaps the top spring is TT? Diffrent year T's had varying numbers of spring leaves, there is a good guide posted on the board here somewhere. I used a T rear spring under my A bone.

I Had an A spring that looked TALL a lot like your TOP spring but it was 2.25" wide.
