  1. I think when we were travelling together we were running 60-65 easy.

The car likes 68-70 mph, with the OD on thats just under 2500 rpm. But when I'm traveling with someone else, I'll go their speed (unless it's too fast for me).

The cruising speed also relates to the handling of the car...it's a handful at 70, but more than a handful going faster than that.

    Good to meet you!

Yeah, I was at the big show, it was interesting. Not many altered wheelbase street/strip cars there :)

I even brought a lawn chair! it's not quite period correct, but it's as close as I can find right now.

  6. All you need now is a cry baby to lean on the front tire and some fake food to put on a window tray. Other wise looks like you have the car show thing down. Is this what we have to look forward to after we retire from drag week?

Yup. Anyways....found some possible leads on a block for you talking to folks there...

I don't take the show stuff to seriously, it's fun to talk with folks. There are quite a few interesting folks at car some car shows.

    :)

Most of the local car show cruise-in types down here take their cars out of their air conditioned garages.
Drive them to the show and get them safely back home before dark and never use them for anything else. Not my style, if you got it drive it or race it or both.

With thousands of miles of beaches, I bet we have more sand than AZ...well, maybe not. :D

Keep in mind that most of the folks in Phx moved there from up north, and brought their trees with them...hence our water shortage, keeping the darn things fed!

this one is not even a "real" car show...I expect there will be only a handful of older cars there.

Doing a little maintenance. The plugs look ok, they've been in there a long time, many thousands of miles. Back in they go.

Stepping back a few posts, the missus is just going through Wickenburg, on her way to Marana. While I sit in snow :( Still dig this car, and it's epic road trip.

Did the World of Wheels circuit one winter with a funny car back in the 70's. Drive the hauler to an event, set up and sell t shirts for 4 or 5 days and pack up and go to the next one. Met a lot of nice people, was never so bored in my life by the time winter got over. Ruined car shows for me.
