Nice looking car and a bonafide survivor. Cool!
Very cool car and with history!
Do you plan on racing it or just enjoy on the street? Either way its a nice find!
Up to date pics! My car goes in for paint shortly, and like Jeff said, tons of great work completed by Rob.
Such a tuff lookin car! ......even just as it sits.
Front bumper rework looks awesome, love the look!
Rob cut near 6 inches off the sides and about 3 out of the middle, At first we couldn't make up are minds whether it should go on or not, but it works for me.
It definitely looks better. I think the original configuration is the one thing I didn't care much for on the '57. Looking forward to seeing this with some color on it.
OahuEli, I see your name pop up everytime I post my car, Thanks for showing an interest.
A few more pictures.
I've liked the '57 Fords and in particular the Rancheros ever since I saw one set up to run Gas class with a 390 & 4 speed, straight axle and radiused rear fenders. It was primer red and pretty raw and I loved it. I saw your car when you first posted awhile back and it reminded me of that Ranchero. The workmanship is first rate and I have a feeling your car is going to come out real nice. Looking forward to the videos of it wailing down the quarter.
Rat Nastys wagon is also a pretty cool one. That car will definitely be bad ass, even of it does have a Chevy motor.
I tried to buy a '57 Ranchero a few months ago, has a great body & a 390, but there are title issues and I ended up with a '51 Ford F1 with a freakin 350 in it. Kinda like the ugly girl from high school that you know puts out, better than nothing. lol
57 meteor awesome meteor !!!!!!!!!!!!
fired it up today...happy fathers day to me and my neighbors!hehehe!
It's lookin real nice, checked out the new paint job, great color for that car!

wish i new how to post up a vid i would? alright in my book i didnt need a trailor to get it back home! needs a lil brake work..."bugs" ehhh! throttle linkage is way too stiff! steering arm needs to be changed! but all is great! I really like my wagon! so far my favorite of all my past to present cars!cant wait to take it to a local cruise!
Here's your Photoshop, Donnie. Not sure why it didn't show on the pm. I like this color though, too bad you gotta wait a month for the real deal. Did you tell your neighbor someone stole his car AND driveway?
that gold is it! looks killer!
Thanks Eli! Looks cool man, you chromed the grill and bumpers, new glass, and the body and paint looks amazing. Can't thank you enough, cheques in the mail. Thanks Pal!
You're quite welcome, it was fun to do! I'm looking forward to seeing the real deal. Uh oh..."cheques in the mail." Isn't sorta like the saying "I'll respect you in the morning"?
Thanks also. If I'd have known how to do color transfer better when I did your wagon ( post #348) it wouldn't have looked orange. lol
Here's mine I'm working on...
El Paso, TX
This ones been in Torrington Ct for years . I just did a set of headers and a full exhaust ( exits out the port hole bumper ) for it . It now has a 428CJ with a 4spd .
Beautiful work Fabuthis......
very cool old gasser!
Thank you Jeff !!
How about a Ford with a Chevy front end???
Rat nasty - that wagon turned out great. Congrats brother! Thanks for posting your build on this thread.
I've been getting mine ready for the strip. It now has a new drivetrain and a cage. As soon as it's broken in, we'll see how she goes on the track.
I like that new wheel & tire combination, looks better than the white walls.
