Here is a place for everyone to post their favorite '55-57 Ford Gasser pictures. I'm going to kick this off with some historic photos, some of which I know belong to other HAMBers here.

I hope they won't mind my posting pix of their cars. After all, they are kick ass, or they wouldn't be here!

I am working on a '55/56 Fairlane gasser myself, but I'll wait to post pictures of it until it is a little closer to being finished.

In the mean time - HERE THEY ARE . . .

Here is a real beauty, and a recent build by HAMB Alliance Member 56 Gasser (appropriate handle, I think):

No kidding? Even with a car as big as a '57 Ford, I don't think that would having an engine that big would make it C Gas, either. I was guessing (hoping for) 352 FE or something like that.

Everyone has an opinion, I think the guy ruined the yellow 57 Ford. Those cars look better lowered.

Xhotrodder, keep in mind that the gasser "look" was really more a case of form following function, not a customizing fashion craze . . . at least not until later on with the advent of Street Freak variants.

Lowering is really much from the "custom" camp, traditionally speaking.

The whole idea with the Gasser stance was to obtain maximum traction at launch while drag racing through weight transfer. It was early tech, and primitive by todays standards to be sure, but so are flathead powered model A roadsters with buggy spring suspensions.

But to each his own. Im curious though - why "X hot rodder"?
