I suggest you also look at paint samples and one more thing take the sample out in natural light for indoor/floresent light is poluted.Ford has the brightest, most vivid colorful pinks. Tnomoldw

If it is not mentioned already 55 CHEVY used pink as FLAMINGO with graphite. Not sure if the book used graphite in its description.

  8. Here's another funny one - Cadillac called there's " Mountain Laurel" .

    Now here's what I think happened :

Gm executive who was hard of hearing asked "what color is that ?"
Designer replied , " I don't know yet, might be Coral"
Gm executive paused and said " I love it ! Mountain Laurel"

Not sure if this fits Your criteria for "the brightest" or "most vibrant" but there´s a really nice-looking, warm-glowing metallic pink in the ´57-58 Oldsmobile -palette by the name of "Rose Mist Poly".

It's a little faded from original. Coral tone and velvet black.

  14. My 55 chevy wagon was originally pink. I think they called it coral. Ugly color I prefer the surface rusted black primer that it now wears. Oldwolf

Does anyone know who owns the 59 (I believe) pink Caddy, white top, flamethrower exhaust through the hood...my wife spotted it in the Western Chicago suburbs (Lombard)?

I'd be willing to bet that was negative... That caddy is all sorts of wrong...

Best way to cover up a bad chop: flame throwers through the hood. I thought everyone knew that...

I know this is an old thread, but '57 Lincoln "Flamingo" comes to mind.
You might find the code in themoose 's excellent link (post #5).

  26. I'm with Randy & Y'n'P on this one .

  27. I sold one identical to that back in '67 when I left SoCal and moved to Phoenix. In the picture it looks like the old black California plate on the front. Do you know the history on yours?
