pink color cars of the 50s

  1. looking for the brightest one

Seems almost every manufacturer had at least one shade of pink in their lineup, but who's was the brightest or most vibrant?

I'll need an application and or the name of the color to get a paint code

Your best bet would be to go to a paint store that has some 50's chip decks and compare that way. Does it have to be a 50's paint code?

  3. No it doesn't need to be a 50s paint code

But my Ppg guy laughed when I said " metallic pepto-bismol"
He didn't have any 50s books but said he could mix any color by code or application and name.

Do a search on Ebay. I have had nothing but trouble finding a color close to the one in my head for 40 years. There is a seller on Ebay that has all the old colors and the chips that you can quickly compare.

I wanted a factory 56 Ford color. I ordered it and it was a perfect match. This was after a friend mixed me a sample from his special paint system. (I had the code) it wasn't even close!

another time I Went to a paint store and looked at their chips.....The paint was not even close to the chip that I selected.

Packard and Mopar made a pink in the 50s. I doubt that a modern paint store will have chips from this era.

I always think about a Model A that was pink. it was lettered on the back "Kiss my ass it's peach":D

When I was a kid my parents had a pink 55 Desoto & it was a lighter pink than my 55 Crown Vic that had factory paint that I always thought was the best color I've ever seen. Two tone, pink w/a white top,I wished I still had it!!

I would almost say to start with the gm mary kay pink pearl (code wa160e) and have your paint jobber tint it darker/more vibrant

PPG Strawberry Cream is a light "pink" color. Shown on my DeSoto. It is a solid color, I think it would look good with a HOC shimmirin coat appled before the CC.

Not 50's, but the brightest pink was probably Mopar "Panther Pink" from 1970!

'67 Mustang "Playmate Pink" was bright. Good enough for Mims' TR3.

My grandparents had a pink '58 Ford. I don't know why they bought it but one of them must have really hated it. They had it painted yellow.

I think the brightest was the pink that ford used in 1955, I worked restoring cars for many years and that is a really bright pink, I did a 56 vicky for myself and did it black and pink and used the 55 pink and just loved it, it was such a contrast and it was so bright, it was just awesome!
