Missed TROG in Wildwood again this weekend so I decided to just go out to the country and play by myself. Good times! Just a kid in a hopped up Model A.

 

AH the joy of doing unrestricted donuts in the dirt.

 

If you can keep it dry the wood will hold up for quite a while, look at how long houses last. If the wood
gets wet all bets are off, but the twisting of the wood will likely be the first issue.

 

...now that's what real hot roddin is about!

It just keeps getting better! No Uni on the salt for me this year as I was helping with the "Quick and Easy" V4F/FMR so I took the Coupe out for a support vehicle. What a blast! Ran it down the short coarse at 55 mph and even ran it up to 76 mph on the road. (Don't tell anyone)
Good times all of them, I do still plan to change it up a bit soon but it will stay this way a little longer as I bought another 30 coupe for my wife and that project has moved to the front burner.

I saw your car @ Bonneville but I didn't see you. I did go up to the pits where it was, but everyone is so busy it you hate to bother them.

 

Little update, Kathy's coupe is near completion and turning out nicer than I expected with the Baby Blue on Black paint. Very happy with the outcome.

 

Dam you build fine cars and shoot GREAT photos to boot.

 

Wow never figured baby blue and black for a paint scheme, but that looks sharp!

 

Sorry I never responded to this. I would never weld in my lathe this is a purpose built crankshaft welder. Submerged arc MIG. Great for welding anything round, special wire and flux for cast iron.
It's the orange thing behind the young lady. Sorry, best picture I could find in my files. I often find stray girls wandering through my shop.
