I can see Pikes Peak from my front door. It's always amazed me how this great piece of American history, second only in age to Indy, and one of the best races you could ever see, hardly gets noticed in the local papers. There are few if any stories telling details about the race, or how to get tickets or anything. Even hard core car guys around here usually don't pay it much attention. Shame. Shame. If you've never been, you should put this on your bucket list, there is nothing else even close to the thrill of seeing and feeling the dirt-in-your-face excitement of really fast cars on a REALLY HIGH dirt road, going all-out, through more than a hundred turns. Unbelievable.
