So it was time again for the Jokers' Car Show, and unlike last year the weather was brilliant. I tagged along with Jonas and Magnus from the Warhawks. I chose to take the sedan for its first longer trip in spite of a load of carb/fuel-related mishaps during the recent weeks. You don't know if it works unless you try, right? The usual suspects showed up, and some I hadn't seen before. Here's some highlights from the show: '36 three-window with an injected Hemi This one had an Eddie Meyer intake on an otherwise stock-appearing flathead. It looked really good when he drove by. Some of the pics turned out a bit dark, sorry about that. Teemu of the Pistons showed up with the '27 coupe, all finished up. Thom and Tobbe did an axledropping show. That's entertainment! Seen it before, still liking it.
Thanks for the pics! I met Teemus '27 on the motorway this Friday, it really looked awesome in the sun!
Great pics of obviously a great gathering. Now may I be the first to request details of the axle dropping device! That's super cool. Dan
Greeeat show. I had a wonderful time. Here's a couple of my pics. Teemu's car was looking awesome in the light of the street lamp later in the night. I tried to take a pic of it but it doesn't do the car justice. I wonder how man of the people there went home with the desire to have a blown engine? The sound when Thom revved his engine almost gave me goosebumps. Damn!
I guess I was a bit late... Gustav and Jessica very well known California built '56 Fairlane got a new home this weekend See more pics in other post!
I have got two from last years "A-bombers Oldstyle meet" in Sweden. It is also a Jokers car if I remember correct!
Photo opportunity on the way home. [/QUOTE] what a shot - VERY COOL. thanks for all the pics everyone, we like! mike
I think it was primer red a few years ago! Here´s a pic of it that I took at the 2004 A-Bombers Old Style weekend in Backamo, Sweden...
Thanks for the pics! Look like a very cool show!! I dig the tech "how to drop your I beam" congrats! Peter
With the difficulty of building a old car here in the States ... I am amazed of the quality of the cars and admire your dedication to it ... Some nice stuff and thanks for taking the time to post ... Randy
Me too, it was really cool to see how it could be done with a fairly uncomplicated setup. I forgot to take a photo of the jig, but it looked well-built and I wouldn't hesitate to let them drop an axle for me.
here's a link to the unofficial axledropping movie http://www.warhawks.se/whmov.html It's Movie 4 and it's about 40 Mb. //Magnus
A lot of awesome rides met up for this years Jokers party, one of my favourite was definitively Temu's wild model T that he drove all the way over from Finland. I'm allready looking foreward to the next years show. Some of you guys are probaly soon heading over for the Pistons Party in Finland.... lucky bastards.... But I hope I'll see alot of you on the A-bombers show in August. For more pix from the show, visit: http://www.kustomrama.com/articles/eventindex.php
I was only able to be there on friday do to a wedding on saturday, but i left my camera there so pics are coming soon, it was great to see some real progress on some cars!
Thanks for the pics. I see my friends from So Cal (Becky and Jennifer and others) made it out there. They were talking about going a couple months ago.
