short story found the car while at work about 3 yrs ago went back a month or so to check up on it. she still had it but didnt have my camera that day. she said she had promised to her nephew but he didnt have much interest in it.

I went back this past friday with my camera. to take a few pics of the car just so i would have some of the car. her nephew was to come down this weekend for other things and she was going to ask him to make a decision on the car. She said she would let me know either way even if he wanted the car so i could get it off my mind and move on to other things. anyway here are some pics of the car and i hope to know if i get to make an offer on the car this week.

If you don't get thet sumbitch, I'm gonna drive all the way to Ohio and offer any price she wants and I really don't even like 4 doors but that's just too nice to pass up.

believe me I am going to do ALL i can to get the car if i get the chance other projects and house space be dammed haha. I have a spare room in my split level house that could get a garage door cut it in really easy to make room for this one. and if i do get lucky enough to get the car there will be a thread on the car thats for sure

And a Roadmaster, no less! For your sake, I hope her nephew is addicted to his video games, and doesn't give a crap about the car. If he didn't jump on it immediately, but takes it now, I suspect the car is will die a miserable rotting death, 'cause the kid obviously isn't a car guy.

You need to offer to get it running for her, and take her for a drive. Sweet old ladies need love, too........

Your plea should start with the fact that the Nephew has no interest in old cars and for the sake of the car going to a good home (like her late Hubby would want) you will lovingly take possession of it.
Offer to buy the car for $XXXX. Then hand the Nephew $500 so there are no hard feelings (buy him off).

well just got the call tonight and she left me a message.....i will call her back tomorrow........

looks like i dont get to own a Buick yet. DAMN IT DAMN IT DAMN IT. but obviously i cant blame the guy for a second for not wanting to get rid of it either.

she said in the message that her nephew was going to retire end of this fall and wanted to work on the car then( like it really needs any real work). she was extremely nice about it and said that if he was to change his mind she would let me know right away. ill call her back and i guess just maybe off to help him work on the car if he needs. i dont know if he has any mechanical skill or not. Well this blows and i hope the car doesnt get messed up in anyway. kinda sucks thinkin about a car for a few years and getting so close to getting it. but i guess his mind could change....a stack of dead presidents in hand would be a nice start to retirement......but who am i kidding..that car would be a hell of a start to retirement!

Yeah I know what ya mean but these people live in a gated private lake so I know they are not to hard up for cash which sucks but never know i will for sure keep in touch with her/him on this car

My friend has a '51 4 dr. with low milage. He had some problems with some mechanical stuff since it hasn't been driven much, but he did fixed it all. Now, it's a cool cruiser. A very nice and roomy (comfortable) car.

 

It's way too good to tamper with, perfect time capsule. I personally would leave it 'As Is' however it's not my car.
